A thigh lift removes loose skin of the inner thigh. The scar sits in the groin and, if the excess is long, can continue down the inner thigh; liposuction does not remove that skin, and the operation is not weight loss.
A thigh lift is an operation that removes loose skin from the inner thigh. The trouble is usually the length of the skin, not fat; when the skin does not draw back and feels slack, liposuction will not shorten it. Where the skin is tight and only fat is in excess, fat reduction is the conversation instead of a lift. For anyone planning the journey to Turkey, the decision rests on how far the skin has lengthened, on whether weight has held steady, and on where the scar will sit. The aim is a tighter inner thigh, not weight loss. The scar stays in the groin, and it is not described as something that fades away.
During the operation the extra skin is taken according to its length, and the deeper tissue is closed firmly so the skin stays where it is placed. The incision is planned in the groin fold and, if the excess is long, can continue down the inner thigh. The longer the line, the more skin is taken, and it is marked on the body while standing. A small amount of extra fat can be thinned in the same session, but liposuction alone does not take this skin. Weight should already be steady, because the operation does not make weight fall.
A thigh lift is considered when the skin of the inner thigh hangs, feels slack and the legs rub together. If the skin draws back when pinched and the lower part is still firm, a smaller procedure may be enough. Weight should have held steady for a while, because weight that moves again can lengthen the skin once more. Smoking, wound healing and earlier incisions in this area are asked before a plan is built. Fat can be thinned alongside, but the main work is shortening the skin. The scar sits in the groin and, where needed, along the inner thigh.
In the first days the inner thighs are swollen and tight, and the line is not yet the result. Not everyone has a drain. When one is placed it carries fluid out of the fresh wound and comes out once the flow falls. A garment is worn for the first weeks so the skin lies flat against the tissue beneath. Walking is allowed; opening the legs wide and squatting for long are limited. After the flight home, the garment and wound care continue at home. This page is general information; your plan is settled after examination and a written quote.
At examination the skin is read by pinching, the legs are measured standing and lying, and the place of the scar is marked together. Whether it will stay in the groin or run down the inner thigh, and how long the garment is worn, are written at the same visit. The planned stay in Istanbul is 7–10 days. That time covers the operation, the first wound check and care of a drain if one was placed. Op. Dr. Ramazan Güler clears the flight home once swelling and the wound allow it. The final form of the inner thigh is not judged in the hotel while swelling is still there.
